Baingan Ka Bharta (Eggplant Bharta)



Baingan Bharta is a very tasty & a simple dish to make. Roast the brinjal on an open flame or grill it till its soft inside and burnt outside. Grilling in the oven - This is an almost hands-free way to roast the eggplants. Add the chopped tomatoes and mix it well. Like authentic baigan ka bharta I too like to use ghee (Indian clarified butter) and lots of garlic, but feel free to use oil and less garlic.

Where exactly can you buy those stove racks on which you placed the eggplant for roasting. Onion, tomatoes, green chilies and fresh coriander leaves: Tomatoes are added in a good quantity. Add chopped garlic and cook it for few seconds. Turn the brinjal after every 2 to 3 minutes on the flame, so that its evenly cooked.

How to make baingan bharta recipe. Keep turning it after 2 minutes so that it is evenly cooked on all the sides. Carefully lifting it with tongs place it on top of the cooked bharta. If using a stove with flame, evenly roast the eggplant on all sides until they are tender and smoky.

Then I cook this smoky roasted baingan with onion, tomatoes, and masala which results in most delicious and smoky baingan ka bharta. I go heavy on the garlic in my baingan bharta, use it while roasting the eggplant and also in my masala. Now to it add green chili, turmeric powder, breakfast ideas coriander powder, and Kashmiri red chili powder.

I think every house has their favorite baingan bharta recipe. Baingan Ka Bharta recipe is a popular dish across India. Turn the oven to broil and let the broiler heat. Now add chopped garlic and saute for about 2 minutes. Roasted baingan is sauted with tomato puree and is best served with roti, parantha or naan.
